Medallion Flyers:
Getting Started
Interested
pilots begin by submitting an Online application
to the Medallion Foundation, which then issues the applicant a copy
of the FAA “Back to Basics – Runway Safety” program in CD format. After
reviewing the CD, pilots will be notified of the next Step II Orientation
Course in their area. Pilots who attend the class are provided a copy
of the King Schools Risk Management course on CD as well as other applicable
material.
The
Step II Orientation classes are designed to establish a Personal
Safety Program, facilitate hazard assessment, implement Risk
Management techniques, and enable participants to take advantage
of the benefits offered by free access to the Medallion Foundation's
state-of-the-art Aviation Training Devices (ATDs).
Once this training is completed and initial participation requirements
are met, pilots are designated Active
Participants in the Flyer's Program.
