Medallion's state-of-the-art
Aviation Training Devices (ATDs), which are available for use at locations
throughout the State, enable Medallion Participants to realistically
practice flying skills, including cockpit scan, emergency and instrument
approach procedures, as well as visual navigation throughout Alaska
and the “Lower 48.” The ATDs also provide an excellent resource for
evaluating deteriorating VFR conditions, and application of pre-planned
avoidance/escape maneuvers. Instruction on how to operate Medallion's
ATD hardware and software is provided during Flyer Orientation training.
The instruction also explains how to schedule ATDs using Medallion's
internet web site, and procedures for contacting Medallion Volunteer
Instructors.
A further description of our
ATDs may be found on the ATD/Simulator
Description
page.
Attention
Medallion Flyer Participants!
The
required two hour one-on-one training block on the ATD setup and usage
may be conducted with one of Medallion's Volunteer Counselors. They
must be contacted by you personally and arrangements made with
one of these simulator counselors to provide this initial certification.
A list of current volunteer instructors and their contact information
is available on the Foundation's web site at Volunteer
Counselors under the "GA Program" icon along the top of
the page. If you have any questions, or problems scheduling, feel free
to the Training Center: 907.743.8050.
Thank you,
Medallion
