Welcome Pilots

The Medallion Foundation’s ATD’s (Aviation Training Devices) provide pilots the opportunity to practice recognition and avoidance of the causes of accidents in flat-light, white-out and deteriorating visibility weather conditions.   

 

TO GET STARTED using these FREE training devices

  1. You must be at least a student pilot to take advantage of these instruments. 
  2. SIGN UP: http://medallionfoundation.org/ATDschedule.asp
    1. First time users need to go to the website above and complete the “Sign up Here” form. To get your username and password. (Approval is required before you can sign in the first time.
    2. Use the username and password to log in for scheduling.
    3. To schedule time, log in and follow scheduling instructions in the next paragraph.

 

SCHEDULING:

  1. LOG IN:  http://medallionfoundation.org/ATDschedule.asp
  2. View Schedule
  3. Choose location and ATD and select time (if you desire more than 2 hours adjust the times).
  4. At the bottom of page and click “SAVE” and then click “Return to Scheduler to verify your reservation”.
  5. Please cancel if you cannot make the time, process is same as scheduling to cancel.

 

TYPE OF ATDs.

Single-screen ATD’s:  Available software includes; X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator X (Deluxe Edition) and ELITE.  An instruction manual is onsite and also online.

Three-Screen ATD’s:  These feature three 27 inch monitors for the outside view for enhanced CFIT training.  Microsoft Flight Simulator X (Deluxe Edition) is the only software available on these units.  An instruction manual is located onsite.

Rotary Wing ATD

In a trailer, usually located in Anchorage at the Tom Wardleigh Training Center. Manufactured by FLYIT Simulators.  An instruction manual is located onsite and online.
