ASAP Program Overview

Medallion Foundation, in cooperation with certain Air Carriers and the FAA, has established an Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) for Cabin Crews, Dispatchers, Flight Crews, Maintainers, and Ground Crews. The Medallion Foundation ASAP is a voluntary, self-reporting program designed to identify and reduce possible flight safety concerns. ASAP uses employee input to identify significant safety concerns and issues; operational deficiencies; non-compliance with regulations; deviations from company policies and procedures; and unusual events. In partnership with the Air Carrier Management, employee representatives and the FAA, each report is investigated and corrective actions developed based on a non-disciplinary approach to safety. The de-identified safety information and corrective actions are shared each month among all the participating carriers to enhance the safety awareness of all the carriers. In addition a set of “Best Practices” which have been developed through the ASAP process are posted on the private side of the Medallion Foundation webpage where they are available to the participating carriers.
